Welcome
I believe that therapy unfolds differently for everyone.
Where for some, the process is about acknowledging painful aspects of life, for others it is about developing coping skills so that the painful aspects of life cease to be so overwhelming. Because of this, I offer a therapy relationship that is open and attentive. I balance being empathic and challenging, because ultimately good therapy is about feeling supported in making positive life changes.
Specialties
I support individuals, couples and families in tackling a diverse range of challenges. Areas in which I have more extensive interest and clinical experience are:
Mood disorders (anxiety and worry, depression and sadness, self-esteem)
Relationship difficulties
Couples and family therapy
High school and college age students
Academic or career underachievement
Trauma and PTSD
About Me
After graduating from Smith College School for Social Work in 2010, I completed an advanced fellowship in psychodynamic therapy at Cambridge Health Alliance and Harvard Medical School. I hold a certificate in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy from Boston University and I am certified in Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples. I am a fully licensed clinical social worker in the state of Massachusetts and practice in the city of Northampton.
In addition to private practice, I also provide mental health training and consultation to residential summer camps in Western Massachetts.
Fees & Insurance
My fee is $150 per session, but as one of my goals is to make psychotherapy widely available, if you cannot afford the full fee I have a sliding scale we can discuss. I also accept most “PPO” insurance plans.
